JIM WHITFORD (electric and pedal steel guitars):
Highly
respected for his skilled guitar work and eloquent songwriting,
Whitford was a founding member of, and driving force behind the
popular and much-missed Pine Dogs. In addition to his own band,
Jim's been known to perform with The Fibs, The Outlyers, The
Steam Donkeys and Alex Lynne. Whitford's 2000 release, entitled
"Poison in the Well," has received continued praise and
accolades from critics and fans alike. Recorded in Austin, Texas
in 1999, and expertly produced by Lucinda Williams guitarist/producer
Gurf Morlix,
"Poison in the Well" is a wonderfully-executed roots rock/Americana
record featuring a host of acclaimed players such as Morlix, Buddy
Miller and Ian McLagen. The albums emotions range from the
swampy, sex-laden "Crash All Night" to the achingly beautiful
"Crazy World." For his pedal steel prowess, Whitford was
nominated for "Outstanding Miscellaneous Instrument" at
the 1999 Artvoice Music Awards.
JONATHAN HUGHES (bass):
Jonathan
has played bass in numerous bands including the florally-named bands
Wallflower and Lotusflower. Over the years, Jonathan's bass playing
has been nominated for Artvoice Music Awards and Buffalo Music Awards
on several occasions. Aside from playing in his own bands, he has
also appeared as a guest on numerous CDs from artists like Jeffry
Braun, The
Contortionists, and Purnima. In addition to playing bass,
Jonathan creates minimal electronic ambient music. His latest realese,
Trillium,
is
Jonathan's first full release for The
Foundry/Hypnos.
